Over the past few months I’ve been spending an increasing amount of time in Washington DC . I spend hours wandering the streets taking in all the culture and sights of the city. Sometimes I’ll shoot a whole roll of film in a few hours, and other times I’ll barely capture anything. There’s something different to see around every corner and its exciting to me never knowing what I’ll encounter. My interest as far as my photography in the city centers around the people and culture so unique to the area. Here is a small selection of photos I’ve made over the last couple months.

Setting traps for Mermaids – Macie Moon

Forger your legs and your past life. ...but I'm caught... Tempest's TrumpetSeeking ancient deities and sighing for release.

Two things that weigh heavily on the heart of a child:

To soar weightless through an endless sky and  to search and savor the mystery of the deep.  I know of nothing more compelling than the sea. While we monotonously (and dutifully) go through each days work, we secretly long to hear the voice of the ocean; we dream of her silky caress. As life wears on, we become afraid. Ensnared by our  own doubts, fears and self deprecation, we become briny, shivering creatures; trapped and ready to be devoured.

Southbound – by Kyle Myles

Last week I made my way down to Myrtle Beach for a quick vacation, stopping along the way for anything that caught my eye. Most of my photographs while at the beach centered around the fishing pier. I would wake up early every morning to capture the sunrise and the fishermen headed out to start their day. Here’s a selection of photos from my trip…

All black and white photos were shot with a Leica M6, Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.4 Classic, and Tri-X 400.

All color photos were shot with a Leica Mini and Ektar 100.

From Indian Lakes – by Kyle Myles

I got the opportunity to shoot some live photos of this band, From Indian Lakes, a few weeks ago. Concert photography isn’t something I’ve dabbled in much, so I was excited to try my hand at it in a better setting than a local bar. These are a select few of the photos I snapped of them.

Shot with my Leica M6 Classic, Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.4 MC and a roll of expired Kodak Tri-X 400.

My Photo Obsession – Street Photography – Brandon S. Warren

Ok, now …… If there is any form of photography or artist expression I fear and love in equal parts , its street photography. All of my heroes have been street photographers. I have learned an extreme amount from studying their works, from Eugene Atget to HC. Bresson – There was always this insane fear that I would never ever amount up to the level of awesome-ness that they execute, as well as many other newer stars of the genre. So I never tried to make that “My Thing” – I am passionate about it without wanting to create it. Its strange I know.
I love the shadow-play and randomness of real life, an unexpected split second in the life of a person walking by, or just a landmark that I care less to make look like a commercial endeavor.
BUT with all that said – I can count on one 4 GB memory card how much street photography I have shot in my lifetime, I always have this insane urge to sit and watch and capture when I am out there, but I never do it.  Welcome to My little slice of street photography.

Enjoi,
Shane
